Gareth W. Kuhl
Mr. Kuhl is a founding partner of Kuhl & Grant LLP. Prior to forming Kuhl & Grant LLP in 2010, Mr. Kuhl was a partner at Ice Miller LLP where he practiced for over 15 years. His practice focuses on real estate and federal income taxation. Mr. Kuhl’s primary practice concentrations are affordable housing and economic development utilizing tax incentives (including the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit, Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit and New Markets Tax Credit) as well as other development and operating subsidies and financing methods. Mr. Kuhl represents for profit and nonprofit developers and owners, public housing authorities, municipalities, property managers, contractors, lenders and investors at the state, regional and national level. He frequently speaks at conferences, seminars and presentations on matters affecting affordable housing and economic development, and has served on numerous committees, task forces and discussion groups addressing such matters.
Mr. Kuhl is a founding member of the Indiana Affordable Housing Council, and currently serves as the Secretary and a member of its Board of Directors and its executive committee.
Born in Niles, Michigan, Mr. Kuhl attended the University of Michigan School of Business Administration where he received a B.B.A. in 1991, graduating with high distinction, with concentrations in finance and accounting. Mr. Kuhl earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Michigan Law School in 1994, graduating cum laude. He was an Executive Editor for the Journal of Law Reform. Mr. Kuhl is admitted to practice law in the states of Indiana and Michigan.
